The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers a free "Care Kit" with the supplies needed to ship packages abroad, including boxes, packing tape, and customs forms. Visit the USPS website to get your free kit, which will be shipped to you and arrive at your doorstep within 5 to 7 business days. Before we dive in, it's important to clarify something. Not every flight has the same offers, benefits or discounts.
Deep Discounts From Fitbit For Veterans In November
Some things are only available when a service member or your entire military family is traveling on orders. This will be for commercial flights during PCS. Other times, service members may fly commercial flights while on deployment or for TDY duty.
Everything else is considered leisure or vacation travel. While there are still benefits available based on your military affiliation, they are likely to be different.
When booking, carefully read the details and specifications for military and leisure travelers and compare them to the 'official' travel in the order.
Delta Airlines offers some great discounts on flights and baggage. According to the site, there are many ways military families can save on luggage, vacation packages, and even travel with pets!
How To Find Deals And Discounts On All Cruises For Military And Veterans
When traveling at leisure, military families can check up to two 50-pound bags per person free of charge in Economy, Main Cabin, or Comfort+. If you upgrade to Delta Premium Select or Delta One First Class, you can check out three 70-pound bags.
Please note: This policy applies only to active military personnel; It does not appear that dependent spouses have access to this benefit. Sometimes, however, gate agents extend this baggage benefit to dependents traveling without service members. don't count!
If you are traveling by official order, military members can check five 100-pound bags free of charge per person. This is a great feature if you're moving OCONUS and have to travel with a lot of stuff.
There is no official military discount for actual tickets. Discounts are available through Delta Vacations, but are not limited to the Internet.

One of the biggest problems facing military families is moving around, especially OCONUS, with pets. Delta offers deep discounts to help with outstanding costs.
Pets traveling with families on official reservations can be checked in as baggage for a reasonable fee. The cost for this post is between 150-200 USD/CAD/EUR. The final coin is determined by the purpose of the pet.
If your animal does not meet the criteria to be checked as baggage, there is an option to check it as cargo. Shipping fees depend on the size of the box and the pet. Some boxes, such as the XL or Giant sizes, can only be accommodated on certain types of aircraft. Read the rules carefully, and if in doubt, contact Delta directly.
For any type of travel, operating forces are encouraged to check in extra baggage. When traveling on leave, active duty members can check up to three bags for free. Military dependents on official travel orders, as when using PCs, can check up to two bags free of charge. Military travelers with any official order (PCS, Deployment, TDY) may check up to five bags.
Military Discounts For Spouses
The application and the corresponding ID must be presented in order to access the offer. As with other airlines, military dependents traveling on vacation without active duty service members are not included in baggage allowance, but gate agents may choose to extend benefits at their discretion.
After check-in, military forces can access the United Club Lounge; Family members traveling with service members can also request lounge access. However, troops must be on orders (travelling, R&R or official) and dressed in uniform with ID. The benefits here can be huge! The club has courtesy security and often offers free food and drinks, including alcohol. In addition, some lounges are equipped with showers, children's rooms and quiet areas
